About Code & Hustle — Photoshop Automation Built by Photographers

We build the tools we wish existed when we were spending half our week on repetitive post-production work.

Our Story

Code & Hustle started in 2019 when a freelance wedding photographer with a background in software development got tired of spending 15+ hours per week on tasks that a script could do in seconds. Resizing images for web delivery, adding watermarks to proofs, converting RAW files for client galleries, applying the same color corrections to hundreds of photos — these are mechanical tasks that demand zero creativity but consume enormous amounts of time.

The first script was a batch resize tool written to process a 2,000-image wedding gallery overnight. What used to take an entire afternoon finished in under three minutes. That single script freed up enough time to take on two additional bookings per month. It became clear that automation was not just a convenience — it was a competitive advantage that directly impacted the bottom line.

Word spread to other photographers. Colleagues started asking for copies, then requesting custom scripts for their own workflows. Code & Hustle was born out of that demand: a collection of battle-tested Photoshop scripts built by someone who actually uses them on real client work every single week.

Our Mission: Help Photographers Save Time

The photography industry has a time problem. The actual shooting — the creative part that photographers love — is often the smallest portion of the job. Post-production, file management, delivery, and administration eat up the majority of working hours. Most photographers did not get into this business to sit at a computer clicking the same Photoshop menus over and over again.

Our mission is to give photographers their time back. Every script we build targets a specific pain point in the post-production workflow. We focus on tasks that are repetitive, time-consuming, and prone to human error when done manually. If a photographer is doing something the same way more than twice, there is probably a script that can do it faster, more consistently, and without the fatigue that leads to mistakes.

We believe the best creative work happens when photographers are free to focus on their craft instead of drowning in mechanical editing tasks. Automation is not about replacing the artist — it is about removing the busywork that stands between the artist and their art.

How We Build Our Scripts

Every Photoshop script in our collection goes through the same development process. It starts with a real workflow bottleneck — either one we experience ourselves or one reported by photographers in our community. We study how the task is currently done manually, identify every variable and edge case, and then build a script that handles all of them reliably.

Testing is where we spend the most time. Each script is tested against thousands of images in different formats, resolutions, and color spaces. We test with Photoshop CC 2020 through the latest 2025 release on both macOS and Windows. We run stress tests with 10,000+ file batches to verify memory management and stability. A script that crashes on file 847 of a 1,200-image batch is worse than no script at all.

We also care deeply about the user experience. Photoshop scripting has a reputation for being cryptic and hard to use. Our scripts include clear dialog boxes, sensible defaults, progress indicators, and plain-English error messages. You should not need to understand ExtendScript to use a tool that makes your life easier.

Who We Serve

Our scripts are used by wedding photographers processing thousands of images per event, portrait studios delivering client galleries on tight deadlines, event photographers covering conferences and galas, product photographers shooting hundreds of SKUs per day, and real estate photographers turning around property listings within hours. If you work with large volumes of images in Photoshop and repetitive tasks are eating into your time, our tools were built for you.
